Blinking eyes may mean Disinterest

Studies have shown that one can easily tell, whether someone is really listening or not by noticing the frequency of how much they blink. The research work has discovered that if a person closes his eyes too often, then it signifies that his/her thoughts are somewhere else.

"What we suggest is that when you start to mind-wander, you start to gate the information even at the sensory endings - you basically close your eyelid so there's less information coming into the brain," said Daniel Smilek, a cognitive neuroscientist from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada.

Smilek, who conducted this research work, said that the study was part of a shift in how scientists are pondering over to think about the human mind, reports telegraph.co.uk.
The mind does not ignore the world all by itself; the eyelids facilitate it too.
